भारतीय बँकांचे हजारो कोटींचे कर्ज बुडवून परदेशात पलायन केलेल्या विजय मल्ल्या याच्या खटल्यामध्ये लंडन येथील न्यायालयाने भारताच्या बाजूने कौल दिला होता. लंडन येथील न्यायालयाने मल्ल्याने केलेल्या घोटाळ्याच्या चौकशीसाठी, त्याला भारताकडे हस्तांतरित करावे, या भारतीय तपास यंत्रणांच्या मागणीवर शिक्कामोर्तब केले होते. ६२ वर्षीय विजय मल्ल्यावर भारतीय बँकांचे ९००० करोड बुडवल्याचा आरोप असून, त्याने २०१६ मध्ये भारतातून ब्रिटन येथे पलायन केले होते. त्यानंतर विजय मल्ल्याने या निर्णयावर प्रत्यार्पण आदेशाविरुद्ध न्यायालयात पुन्हा याचिका दाखल केली होती. त्यानंतर लंडन न्यायालयाने ही याचिका फेटाळली आहे. त्यामुळे विजय मल्ल्याला भारतात आणण्याचा मार्ग सुकर झाला आहे.
