द. आफ्रिका-श्रीलंका यांच्यातील WTC अंतिम फेरीचे समीकरण….

श्रीलंकेला WTC Final मध्ये स्थान मिळवण्यासाठी ऑस्ट्रेलियाविरुद्धच्या दोन सामन्यांच्या घरच्या कसोटी मालिकेत 2-0 असा विजय मिळवावा लागेल. श्रीलंका सध्या 45.45 विजयाच्या टक्केवारीसह गुणतालिकेत पाचव्या स्थानावर आहे. जर श्रीलंका संघानं ऑस्ट्रेलियाविरुद्ध 2-0 असा विजय नोंदवला तर श्रीलंकेची विजयाची टक्केवारी 53.85 होईल.

ऑस्ट्रेलियाविरुद्ध विजय मिळवण्याआधी भारत आणि ऑस्ट्रेलिया यांच्यातील सिडनी येथे खेळवली जाणारी बॉर्डर-गावस्कर ट्रॉफीची पाचवी आणि शेवटची कसोटी अनिर्णित राहावी, अशी आशा श्रीलंकेला करावी लागेल. जर भारत-ऑस्ट्रेलिया सिडनी कसोटी अनिर्णित राहिली आणि त्यानंतर जानेवारी-फेब्रुवारीमध्ये श्रीलंकेने ऑस्ट्रेलियाविरुद्धची कसोटी मालिका 2-0 ने जिंकली, तर त्यांची विजयाची टक्केवारी 53.85 होईल. अशा परिस्थितीत, ऑस्ट्रेलियाची विजयाची टक्केवारी 53.51 तर भारताची विजयाची टक्केवारी 51.75 असेल. अशाप्रकारे श्रीलंकेचा संघ दुसऱ्या क्रमांकावर पोहोचून अंतिम फेरीसाठी पात्र ठरेल.

जानेवारी-फेब्रुवारीमध्ये ऑस्ट्रेलिया करणार श्रीलंकेचा दौरा…

दरम्यान, सध्या बॉर्डर-गावस्कर ट्रॉफी खेळत असलेला ऑस्ट्रेलियन संघ जानेवारी-फेब्रुवारीमध्ये दोन सामन्यांच्या कसोटी मालिकेसाठी आणि एक वनडे सामन्यासाठी श्रीलंकेचा दौरा करणार आहे. 29 जानेवारीपासून कसोटी मालिका सुरू होणार आहे. त्यानंतर 06 फेब्रुवारीपासून दुसरी कसोटी खेळवली जाईल. दोन्ही कसोटी सामने गॅले येथील गॅले आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्टेडियमवर खेळवले जातील. त्यानंतर दोघांमधील एकमेव वनडे 13 फेब्रुवारीला होणार आहे.
