पूजा बॅनर्जी यांनी पुढे सांगितले की, इतर शहरे आणि राज्ये झपाट्याने विकसित होत आहेत. तिथे नवीन उद्योग, रोजगाराच्या संधी आणि वाढत्या सुविधा उपलब्ध आहेत. त्यामुळे युवक नैसर्गिकरित्या तिकडे आकर्षित होत आहेत. “एका पिढीला आपण किती काळ थांबायला सांगणार? किती काळ त्यांनी तडजोड करायची?” असा सवालही त्यांनी उपस्थित केला. \nत्यांनी बंगालच्या सांस्कृतिक आणि ऐतिहासिक वारशाची आठवण करून दिली. “ही तीच भूमी आहे जिथे रवींद्रनाथ टागोर, सुभाष चंद्र बोस आणि सत्यजित रे यांसारखे महान व्यक्तिमत्त्व जन्माला आले. येथे प्रतिभेची कमतरता कधीच नव्हती. पण आज त्या प्रतिभेला योग्य संधी मिळत नाही,” असे त्यांनी सांगितले.
\nपूजा बॅनर्जी यांच्या मते, बंगालमधील युवकांना त्यांच्या स्वप्नांसाठी राज्य सोडावे लागत आहे, ही खूप दु:खद बाब आहे. “आम्ही जिथे जाऊ, तिथे बंगालला सोबत घेऊन जाऊ. पण आम्हाला आमच्या घरातून जावे लागू नये, अशी परिस्थिती निर्माण व्हावी,” अशी भावनिक प्रतिक्रिया त्यांनी दिली.
\nदरम्यान, पश्चिम बंगाल विधानसभा निवडणुकीसाठी एकूण २९४ जागांवर दोन टप्प्यांत मतदान होत आहे. पहिल्या टप्प्यानंतर आता २९ एप्रिल रोजी दुसऱ्या टप्प्याचे मतदान होणार आहे. या निवडणुकीत ममता बॅनर्जी यांच्या तृणमूल काँग्रेस आणि भारतीय जनता पक्ष यांच्यात मुख्य लढत आहे. निवडणुकीचे निकाल ४ मे रोजी जाहीर होणार आहेत.
