जिया खानचा जन्म 20 फेब्रुवारी 1988 ला न्यूयॉर्कमध्ये झाला होता. मात्र, 25 व्या वर्षी तिने जगाचा निरोप घेतला. 3 जून 2013 ला राहात्या घरी गळफास घेत जियाने आत्महत्या केली.

दरम्यान, तिच्या आत्महत्या प्रकरणी तिचा कथित बॉयफ्रेन्ड अभिनेता सूरज पांचोलीला अटक करण्यात आली होती. सुरजवर जिया खानच्या प्रकरणाचा खटला अजूनही सुरु आहे. परंतु सुरजचं म्हणणं आहे कि, मी निर्दोष आहे. गेले अनेक वर्ष सूरज पांचोली आणि जिया खानचं रिलेशन होतं. एवढंच नव्हे तर ती चार महिन्यांची गरोदर सुद्धा होती.
