दुसरीकडे, निवडणूक आयोगाच्या निमंत्रणावर काँग्रेस खासदार सुखदेव भगत म्हणाले की, “निवडणूक आयोगाची चोरी पकडली गेली आहे, त्यामुळे आम्हाला घाबरून आमंत्रित करण्यात आले आहे. आम्ही आयोगाला जागे करणार आहोत.” त्यांनी असेही म्हटले की “निवडणूक आयोग पंतप्रधानांच्या देखरेखीखाली काम करत आहे.”

\nकाँग्रेस नेते राहुल गांधी यांनी निवडणूक आयोगाविरुद्ध स्वतंत्र आघाडी उघडली आहे. विरोधी पक्षनेत्याने सोशल मीडियावर पोस्ट करत ,”मतांची चोरी ही ‘एक व्यक्ती, एक मत’ या मूलभूत लोकशाही तत्त्वावर हल्ला आहे. मुक्त आणि निष्पक्ष निवडणुकांसाठी स्वच्छ मतदार यादी आवश्यक आहे. राहुल गांधी म्हणाले की, निवडणूक आयोगाकडून आमची मागणी आहे की पारदर्शकता दाखवावी आणि डिजिटल मतदार यादी सार्वजनिक करावी, जेणेकरून जनता आणि राजकीय पक्ष स्वतः त्याचे ऑडिट करू शकतील.”असे म्हटले आहे.
