सिंचन घोटाळा हा केवळ प्रशासकीय टाळाटाळ या स्वरूपाचा आहे. याआधी चौकशी केलेल्या वडनेरे, पांढरे किंवा माधवराव चितळे समितीने अजित पवार यांना जबाबदार धरले नव्हते. त्यामुळे या प्रकरणाची सर्व जबाबदारी फक्त विदर्भ सिंचन विकास महामंडळाचे कार्यकारी संचालक, जलसंपदा विभागाचे सचिव, अवर सचिव यांच्यावरच आहे. त्याशिवाय राज्य सरकारच्या रूल्स ऑफ बिझनेसमध्ये संबंधीत खात्याच्या सचिवांनी कोणताही निर्णय घेण्याकरिता संबंधीत मंत्र्यांना माहिती देणे आवश्यक आहे. त्यामुळे या प्रकरणाची जबाबदारी जलसंपदा खात्याच्या सचिवांवर आहे, असं एसीबीने शपथपत्रात ठळकपणे नमूद केले आहे.
\nअजित पवार यांच्या कार्यकाळात विदर्भातील गोसीखुर्द आणि जीगाव सिंचन प्रकल्पात घोटाळा झाल्याचा आरोप काही संघटनांनी केला होता. हा तब्बल 70 हजार कोटींचा घोटाळा होता. यासाठी ज्या प्रकल्पाचे कंत्राट ज्यांना देण्यात आले होते त्या राष्ट्रवादीचे आमदार संदिप बाजोरिया यांना मोठी आगाऊ रक्कमही देण्यात आली होती. रक्कम दिल्यानंतरही या प्रकल्पाचे काम रखडले आणि हा प्रकल्प अर्धवटच बंद पडला होता.
