\nदरम्यान, पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी ड्रेसिंग रूमला दिलेल्या भेटीचे फोटो भारताचा अष्टपैलू खेळाडू रविंद्र जडेजानेही शेअर केले आहेत. त्याने म्हटले आहे की, “पराभवामुळे आम्हा सर्वांची निराशा झाली असली तरी चाहत्यांच्या पाठिंब्यामुळे आम्ही पुढे वाटचाल करत राहू. तसेच जडेजाने पीएम मोदींनी ड्रेसिंग रुममध्ये येऊन धीर दिल्याचं देखील सांगितले आहे.

\nदरम्यान, या संपूर्ण विश्वचषकात टीम इंडिया अजिंक्य होती. इंडियानं सर्व 10 सामने एकतर्फी पद्धतीने जिंकून अंतिम फेरी गाठली होती. येथे टीम इंडियाचा विजयाचा दावा मजबूत होता पण ऑस्ट्रेलियाविरुद्ध पराभवाचा सामना करावा लागला. विश्वचषक फायनलमध्ये प्रथम फलंदाजी करताना टीम इंडियाने 240 धावा केल्या, जे ऑस्ट्रेलियन फलंदाजांनी 7 षटक शिल्लक असताना पूर्ण केले. कांगारू संघाने येथे 6 गडी राखून विजय मिळवला. या स्पर्धेत एकही सामना न हरलेल्या भारतीय संघाला दुर्देवाने अंतिम सामन्यात पराभवाचं तोंड पहावं लागलं अन् 12 वर्षानंतर वर्ल्ड कप जिंकण्याचं भारताचं स्वप्न धुळीस मिळालं. यानंतर आपल्याला एवढी मेहनत केल्यानंतरही वर्ल्ड कप जिंकता आला नाही याचं दु:ख भारतीय खेळाडूंच्या चेहऱ्यावर स्पष्टपणे दिसत होतं.
