पुढे तिने विनंती केली आहे की, “मला पुरस्कार मिळो किंवा न मिळो, मी वचनबद्ध राहून देशासाठी आणखी पदके जिंकण्याचा प्रयत्न करत राहीन. या प्रकरणावर वेगवेगळे दावे करू नयेत अशी मी सर्वांना विनंती करते.”

\nया सगळ्या प्रकरणानंतर राम किशन भाकर यांनी या संदर्भात मनूशी बोललो असल्याचे म्हटले होते. या सगळ्या प्रकाराने मी निराश झाले असून, ऑलिम्पिकमध्ये पदके जिंकायला नको होते, असे मनू भाकर माझ्याशी बोलताना म्हणाली, असा दावा मनूचे वडील रामकिशन भाकर यांनी केला आहे. या प्रकरणावर अंतिम यादी अजूनही निश्चित झाली नाही. त्यामुळे आगामी एक-दोन दिवसांमध्ये निर्णय होण्याची शक्यता असून त्यामध्ये मनूचे नाव अंतिम यादीत असण्याची शक्यता क्रीडा मंत्रालयाच्या वतीने स्पष्ट करण्यात आले आहे.
