विजयासाठी 188 धावांचा पाठलाग करताना भारताच्या महिला संघाने 5 बाद 187 धावाच केल्या व सामना टाय झाला. सलामीवीर स्मृती मानधना, शफाली वर्मा व रिचा घोष यांनी आक्रमक फलंदाजी केली. मानधनाने 79 धावा करताना 49 चेंडूत 9 चौकार व 4 षटकार अशी फटकेबाजी केली. शफालीने 23 चेंडूत 4 चौकार व 1 षटकाराच्या मदतीने 34 धावा केल्या. कर्णधार हरमनप्रीत कौर 21 धावांवर बाद झाल्यावर आलेल्या रिचा घोषने 13 चेंडूत 3 षटकारांच्या जोरावर नाबाद 26 धावांची खेळी केली व संघाला नेमक्‍या 187 धावाच करून दिल्या.

हा सामना टाय झाल्यामुळे निकाल लावण्यासाठी सुपर ओव्हर खेळवण्यात आली. त्यात भारतीय संघाने 1 गडी गमावून 20 धावा केल्या. 21 धावांचे आव्हान घेऊन मैदानात उतरलेल्या ऑस्ट्रेलियाला केवळ 16 धावाच करू शकला व भारताने 5 धावांनी हा सामना जिंकला.
