सचिनने शेवटचा आंतरराष्ट्रीय सामना वानखेडे स्टेडियमवर खेळला. या स्टेडियममधील एक स्टँड त्यांच्या नावाने समर्पित आहे. दोन दशकांच्या यशस्वी कारकिर्दीनंतर, उजव्या हाताच्या फलंदाजाने नोव्हेंबर 2013 मध्ये वानखेडेवर 200वी आणि शेवटची कसोटी खेळली.

\nचालू आयसीसी विश्वचषक स्पर्धेत भारताने सलग सहा सामने जिंकले आहेत. 2011 नंतर ट्रॉफी जिंकण्याकडे भारताचे लक्ष लागले आहे. योगायोगाने याच मैदानावर टीम इंडियाने श्रीलंकेविरुद्ध विजय मिळवला होता. सलग सातव्या विजयासह उपांत्य फेरी गाठण्याकडे भारताचे लक्ष असेल.

\nसचिनची जी मुख्य मूर्ती आहे, त्याची उंची दहा फूट आहे. त्याच्यावर जी बॅट आहे ती चार फुटांची आहे. अशी एकूण 14 फूट उंचीची मूर्ती आहे. त्याच्या खाली जगाचे चिन्ह म्हणून क्रिकेटचा चेंडू साकारला आहे. ज्यामधून जगाचा नकाशा उलगडला आहे. त्या चेंडूच्या पॅनलवर सचिनचे विक्रम हे नमूद केलेले आहेत. यासह सचिनच्या कामगिरीला उद्देशून एक वाक्यही असणार आहे. सचिनचा हा पूर्णाकृती पुतळा कांस्याचा बनवला आहे. त्याच्या खाली असलेला चेंडूही कांस्याचा बनवण्यात आला आहे.

दरम्यान, 1989 मध्ये आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमध्ये पदार्पण केल्यानंतर त्याने फलंदाजीत अनेक विक्रम केले आहेत. आता पुतळा उभारुन त्याचा अनोखा सन्मान करण्यात येत आहे. सचिन याने भारतासाठी 200 कसोटी सामने, 463 एकदिवसीय आणि एक टी-20 सामना खेळला आहे. आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमध्ये सर्वाधिक शतके (100) आणि धावा (34,357) करण्याचा विक्रम त्याच्या नावावर आहे.
