दरम्यान, उर्फी जावेदचा मुद्दा राजकीय वर्तुळात देखील चांगलाच गाजला होता. भाजप नेत्या चित्रा वाघ यांनी उर्फी जावेदच्या कपड्यांवर आक्षेप घेतला होता. याप्रकरणी तिची पोलिसांत तक्रारही दाखल करण्यात आली होती. त्यावेळी देखील तृप्ती देसाई यांनी उर्फीला पाठिंबा दिला होता. “आपला देश संविधानावर चालतो. उर्फी जावेदने काय कपडे घालावेत किंवा घालू नयेत. हा तिचा निर्णय आहे. याआधी देखील अनेक अभिनेत्रींनी बोल्ड किंवा अश्लील कपडे घातलेले आहेत. मात्र त्यावर कधीही कुणी आवाज उचलला नाही. त्यांच्या बाबतीत आताही बोलले जात नाही. उर्फी जावेदलाच भाजप का टार्गेट करत आहे. उर्फी जावेद मुस्लीम आहे म्हणून तिला टार्गेट केले जात आहे का?”, असा सवालही तृप्ती देसाई यांनी उपस्थित केला होता.
