नवी दिल्ली – अमेरिकेचे स्टार बास्केटबॉल खेळाडू कोबी ब्रायंट यांचा हेलिकॉप्टर कोसळून झालेल्या अपघातात मृत्यू झाला आहे. या अपघातात ब्रायंटसह आणखी ९ जणांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे. ब्रायंट यांच्या निधनाने जगभरात शोककळा पसरली आहे. अमेरिकेचे राष्ट्रपती डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प यांनी कोबी ब्रायंट याना श्रद्धांजली वाहिली आहे.

माहितीनुसार, कॅलिफोर्नियाच्या कॅलबसास येथे सकाळी १० वाजता वाजण्याच्या सुमारास हेलिकॉप्टरचा अपघात झाला. हेलिकॉप्टरने हवेतच पेट घेतला. व यानंतर ते झुडपांमध्ये जाऊन कोसळले. हेलिकॉप्टर जमिनीवर कोसळल्यानंतर आसपासच्या झुडुपांनीही पेट घेतला. ही आग विझवताना अग्निशमन दलाला शर्थीचे प्रयत्न करावे लागले. या अपघातात हेलिकॉप्टरमधील सर्व प्रवाशांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे. यामध्ये कोबी ब्रायंट यांच्यासह त्यांच्या १३ वर्षीय मुलीचाही समावेश असल्याचे समजते आहे.

कोण होते कोबी ब्रायंट 

कोबी ब्रायंट हे लॉस एंजालिस लेकर्स संघाचे प्रतिनिधित्व करत होते. २० वर्षांच्या कारकीर्दीत ब्रायंटने अनेक विक्रम आपल्या नावे केले आहेत. यामध्ये पाचवेळा NBA championship rings विजेतेपदावर नाव कोरले होते. १८ वेळा तो ‘एनबीए ऑल स्टार’ ठरला होता. कोबी ब्रायंटने २००८ आणि २०१८ साली ऑलिम्पिकमध्ये यूएस संघासाठी दोन वेळा सुवर्णपदक जिंकले होते. तसेच निवृत्तीनंतर २०१८ साली ब्रायंट यांच्या डिअर बास्केटबॉल नावाने शॉर्ट फिल्मसाठी ऑस्करही मिळले होते. कोबी ब्रायंट याच्या अकाली निधनामुळे क्रीडाविश्वात हळहळ व्यक्त केली जात आहे.
