अलका लांबा यांनी म्हंटले कि, हर्मेशने त्यांच्या मुलाविषयी आपत्तीजनक टिपण्णी केल्याने त्याला कानशिलात लगावली असल्याचे सांगितले आहे. मात्र, आप कार्यकर्त्याने म्हंटले कि, अलका लांबा यांना सिम्बल घेऊन बुथवर येण्यास विरोध केल्याने त्यांनी हे कृत्य केले. यासंबंधीची तक्रार धर्मेशने निवडणूक आयोगाकडे केली आहे.

दरम्यान, दिल्लीतील आम आदमी पक्षाच्या (आप) अलका लांबा यांनी मागील वर्षी कॉंग्रेसमध्ये प्रवेश केला. त्यामुळे 25 वर्षांच्या खंडानंतर त्या स्वगृही परतल्या आहेत.
