दुसरीकडे त्याचे वडील शाम कौशल हे हिंदी चित्रपटसृष्टीतील प्रसिद्ध ॲक्शन दिग्दर्शक आहेत. त्यांनी सुरुवातीला स्टंटमॅन म्हणून काम केले. त्यानंतर १९९० पासून त्यांनी ॲक्शन दिग्दर्शनाची जबाबदारी सांभाळायला सुरुवात केली. मल्याळम चित्रपट ‘इंद्रजालम’ हा ॲक्शन दिग्दर्शक म्हणून त्यांचा पहिला चित्रपट होता.

यानंतर त्यांनी ‘गँग्स ऑफ वासेपूर’, ‘भाग मिल्खा भाग’, ‘पीके’, ‘टायगर जिंदा है’, ‘पद्मावत’, ‘संजू’ आणि ‘सिंबा’सारख्या अनेक सुपरहिट चित्रपटांमध्ये ॲक्शन दिग्दर्शक म्हणून काम केले आहे. बॉलिवूडसह काही हॉलिवूड प्रकल्पांमध्येही त्यांनी योगदान दिले आहे. (Vicky Kaushal)
