बिहार विधानसभा निवडणुकीच्या निकालानंतर मुख्यमंत्रीपदावरुन अनेक तर्क-वितर्क लढवले जात होते. भाजपाला जास्त जागा मिळाल्याने नितीश कुमार यांच्या हातातून मुख्यमंत्रीपद निसटणार असल्याची शक्यताही वर्तवली जात होती. भाजपा नेत्यांनी एकीकडे नितीश कुमारच मुख्यमंत्री होतील असे स्पष्ट केले असताना नितीश कुमार यांनी मात्र मौन बाळगले होते. यासोबतच आपण मुख्यमंत्रीपदावा दावा केला नसल्याचेही म्हटले होते. पण अखेर एनडीएच्या बैठकीत नितीश कुमार यांची नेतेपदी निवड करत चर्चांना पूर्णविराम देण्यात आला आहे.
\nबिहारमध्ये सरकार स्थापन करण्यासंबंधी भाजपा, जेडीयू, हिंदुस्तानी आवाम मोर्चा (एचएएम) आणि विकासशील इन्सान पार्टी (व्हीआयपी) यांची नितीश कुमार यांच्या निवासस्थानी बैठक पार पडली.
\nबिहारमध्ये एनडीएने १२२ जागांसहित बहुमत मिळवलं आहे. भाजपाला ७४ जागा मिळाल्या आहेत. तर दुसरीकडे नितीश कुमार यांच्या पक्षाला जिथे २०१५ मध्ये ७१ जागा मिळाल्या होत्या तिथे यावेळी ४३ जागांवरच विजय मिळवता आला. भाजपाच्या जागा मात्र ५३ वरुन ७४ वर पोहोचल्या. यासोबत भाजपा बिहारमध्ये मोठा भाऊ ठरला.
