\nया वर्षी मार्चमध्ये, बलुच लिबरेशन आर्मी (बीएलए) ने जाफर एक्सप्रेसचे अपहरण केले होते. त्यावेळी ट्रेनमध्ये सुमारे ३५० प्रवासी होते. पाकिस्तानी सैन्याने मोठ्या कष्टाने ऑपरेशन केले आणि ट्रेन मुक्त केली, परंतु बीएलएने दावा केला की त्यांनी १०० हून अधिक पाकिस्तानी सैनिकांना मारले. तथापि, पाकिस्तानी लष्कराने ३५ ओलिसांचा मृत्यू झाल्याची कबुली दिली होती.
