या अपघातानंतर बचाव पथक रात्रभर ढिगारा हटवण्याचे काम करत होते. इमारतीत आणखी काही लोक अडकल्याची भीती व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे. घटनास्थळी गोंधळाचे वातावरण आहे. घटनास्थळी जमलेली गर्दी प्रशासनाने हटवली आहे. शांतता आणि सहकार्याचे आवाहन केले. एका अधिकाऱ्याने सांगितले की, अपघाताची माहिती जवळपासच्या लोकांकडून गोळा करण्यात आली आहे. जखमींची चौकशी करण्यात येत आहे. मृतदेहांचे शवविच्छेदन करण्यात येणार आहे. अपघाताची माहिती कुटुंबीयांना देण्यात आली आहे.
\nरात्रभर बचावकार्य सुरूच होते
\nसुरतचे मुख्य अग्निशमन अधिकारी बसंत पारीक यांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, बचावकार्य रात्रभर सुरू होते. आतापर्यंत सात जणांचे मृतदेह बाहेर काढण्यात आले आहेत. सुरतचे पोलीस आयुक्त अनुपम गेहलोत यांनी सांगितले की, इमारतीतील 5 फ्लॅटमध्ये लोक राहत होते. घराच्या जीर्ण अवस्थेबाबत पालिकेने मालकाला नोटीस बजावली होती. एफएसएलची टीमही घटनास्थळी दाखल झाली आहे.
या अपघाताबाबत स्थानिक लोकांनी सांगितले की, सुरतमध्ये अशी अनेक घरे आहेत, जी वर्षानुवर्षे जीर्ण अवस्थेत आहेत. अशी घरे कधीही कोसळू शकतात. अशा घरांची यादी तयार करावी. त्याचबरोबर अशा घरमालकांनाही घराची वेळोवेळी दुरुस्ती करावीशी वाटते. या अपघाताची चौकशी करण्यात येणार असल्याचे एका अधिकाऱ्याने सांगितले.
