तसेच प्रकासम जिल्ह्याचे एसपी सिध्दार्थ कौशल्य यांनी या घटनेबाबत अधिक माहिती देताना सांगितले की, या घटनेत मृत पावलेले व्यक्ती मागील काही दिवसापासून पानी आणि शीतपीये सोबत सॅनिटायझरचे प्राशन करत होते. एसपीने म्हटले आहे की, आम्ही याचा देखील तपास करीत आहोत की, त्यांनी सॅनिटायझरसोबत अन्य विषजन्य पदार्था घेतले होते का..? एसपीनी पुढे सांगितले की, मृत व्यक्तीच्या कुंटुंबातील सदस्यांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, संबंधित मृत मागील दहा दिवसापासून सॅनिटायझर प्राशन करत होते.
\nपोलिसांनी या घटनेनंतर संबंधित क्षेत्रात विक्री होणाऱ्या सॅनिटायझरचा स्टाॅक तपासणीसाठी ताब्यात घेतला आहे. सध्या याठिकाणी कोरोना व्हायरसच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर लाॅकडाऊन आहे आणि मागील काही दिवसापासून दारूची दुकाने बंद आहेत. त्यामुळे दारूचे व्यसन असलेले लोक दारू न मिळाल्याने सॅनिटायझर प्राशन करत आहेत. त्यामुळे आतापर्यंत 9 जणांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे. तर इतर गावातही अशा घटना घडल्या असून सॅनिटायझर पिलेले नागरिक आजारी पडले असून त्याच्यावर घरीच उपचार होत आहेत.
