अनेक देशांमध्ये हिंदू संस्कृतीमध्ये मानाचे स्थान असणाऱ्यादेवी-देवतांचे फोटो असणारे प्रोडक्ट विकले जातात. यामध्ये अगदी डोअर मॅटपासून ते अंतर्वस्त्रांपर्यंत अनेक गोष्टींचा समावेश आहे. याच प्रोडक्टचे फोटो पोस्ट करत परदेशातील तसेच भारतातील अनेक ट्विपल्सने अॅमेझॉनने हे प्रोडक्ट विकणे तातडीने बंद करावे अशी मागणी केली आहे.

अनेकांनी अॅमेझॉनचे अॅप अनइन्स्टॉल करण्याची मागणीही केल्याचे चित्र दिसत आहे. विशेष म्हणजे हा हॅशटॅग वापरुन ट्विट करणाऱ्यांमध्ये परदेशात असणाऱ्या भारतीयांचाही समावेश आहे. भारतामध्ये असे प्रोडक्ट विकले जात नसले तरी जगातील इतर देशांमध्ये असे प्रोडक्ट विकून हिंदू संस्कृतीचा अपमान केला जात असल्याचा आरोप अनेकांनी ट्विटवरुन केला आहे.

अॅमेझॉनविरोधात अशाप्रकारे आक्षेप नोंदवण्याची ही काही पहिलीच वेळ नाही. यापूर्वीही हिंदू देवी-देवतांचे फोटो असणारे सामान विक्रीसाठी उपलब्ध केल्याप्रकरणी अॅमेझॉनविरोधात अनेकांनी आवाज उठवला होता. मात्र त्यावेळी अशा वस्तू यापुढे आमच्या माध्यमातून विकल्या जाणार नाहीत असं कंपनीने म्हटले होते. मात्र आता पुन्हा असाच प्रकार समोर आल्याने अनेकांनी यासंदर्भात ट्विटवरुन आक्षेप नोंदवला आहे.
