नाना पाटेकर यांनी अजित पवार यांच्याशी असलेल्या मैत्रीबद्दल बोलताना सांगितले की, “मी दादांना ते १९-२० वर्षांचे असतानापासून ओळखतो. त्यांनी पक्ष कार्यकर्ते म्हणून सुरुवात केली आणि मोठ्या पदापर्यंतचा प्रवास केला. त्यांचा हा प्रवास प्रेरणादायी होता. ते माझ्यासाठी फक्त नेते नव्हते, तर लहान भावासारखे होते.”
