तालिबानने काही दिवसांपूर्वी त्यांच्या ताब्यात येत असलेल्या प्रांतांच्या मौलवींकडून ठिकठिकाणच्या 15 वर्षांवरील तरुणी आणि विधवा महिलांची यादी बनविण्याचे आदेश दिले होते. तसेच तालिबानचे दहशतवादी घरोघरी जाऊन तरुणींचा शोध घेत होते. या महिलांना उचलून नेत सेक्स गुलाम बनविले जात होते.

यावर आता ज्येष्ठ गीतकार जावेद अख्तर आणि बांगलादेशी लेखिका तस्लिमा नासरीन यांनी प्रतिक्रिया दिली आहे. जावेद अख्तर म्हणाले,’अमेरिका जर का तालिबानी लोकांचा खात्मा करू शकत नसेल तर अमेरिका कुठली महाशक्ती आहेत? अफगाण स्त्रियांना दया नसलेल्या धर्मांधांच्या भरवशावर सोडलंय. मानवाधिकारांचे रक्षणकर्ते असल्याचा दावा करणाऱ्या सर्व पाश्चात्य देशांना लाज वाटली पाहिजे.” असं जावेद अख्तर यांनी म्हटलंय
\nतर लेखिका तस्लिमा नासरीन यांनी ट्विट करत चिंता व्यक्त केली आहे. त्या म्हणाल्या,’तालिबान अफगाणी महिलांना नष्ट करत आहेत. यापुढे तिथं कुठेही महिला दिसणार नाहीत. महिला केवळ लैंगिक गुलाम आणि मूल जन्माला घालणारी मशीन म्हणून घरीच राहतील. कट्टरतावादी तालिबानच्या राज्यात महिलांवरील अत्याचारांमध्ये वाढ होईल.’
