पुढे जिया म्हणाली, “ती ६ वर्षांची लाजरी, सतत टीका झालेली, त्रास सहन करणारी मुलगी आज फक्त आनंदी आहे. तिला तिचा अभिमान आहे आणि तिला माहीत आहे की काहीही झालं तरी ती ठीकच असणार आहे. मी स्वतःसाठी लढायला शिकले, स्वतःवर प्रेम करायला, स्वतःचं कौतुक करायला आणि थोडंसं का होईना, स्वतःवर संशय घेणं थांबवायला शिकले. अजून खूप प्रवास करायचा आहे पण मी फक्त आशा करू शकते. जरी इथेच सगळं थांबलं, तरीही मला समाधान आहे की मला जे करायला मनापासून आवडतं, ते करण्याची संधी मला मिळाली. मी कायमच अभिनयावर प्रेम करणारी एक मुलगी असेन”, असे म्हणत जिया शंकरने आपल्या भावना व्यक्त केल्या आहेत.
