याआधी कोट्टायम येथील सभेत बोलताना राहुल गांधी यांनी मोदी सरकारवर गंभीर आरोप केले होते. त्यांनी सांगितले की, केंद्र सरकारने अमेरिकेसोबत केलेल्या एका करारामुळे शेतकऱ्यांचे हक्क कमी झाले आहेत. “पहिल्यांदाच एखाद्या पंतप्रधानांनी भारताची शेती आंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारासाठी खुली केली आहे,” असा दावा त्यांनी केला.

\nऊर्जा सुरक्षेबाबतही त्यांनी चिंता व्यक्त केली. त्यांच्या मते, या निर्णयामुळे भारताची ऊर्जा स्वायत्तता धोक्यात आली असून, आता देशाला पेट्रोल-डिझेल खरेदी करताना स्वातंत्र्य उरलेले नाही. “भारताला तेल खरेदी करायचे असेल, तर आधी अमेरिकेचे राष्ट्राध्यक्ष डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प (Donald Trump) यांची परवानगी घ्यावी लागते, ही अत्यंत लाजिरवाणी बाब आहे,” अशी टीकाही त्यांनी केली.

\nमध्यपूर्वेत सुरू असलेल्या तणावामुळे येत्या काळात मोठा आर्थिक धक्का बसू शकतो, असा इशाराही राहुल गांधी यांनी दिला. त्याचा परिणाम भारतावर होण्याची शक्यता त्यांनी व्यक्त केली.
दरम्यान, २४ मार्च रोजी सोशल मीडियावरही त्यांनी केंद्र सरकारवर हल्लाबोल केला होता. भारताची परराष्ट्र नीती ‘कंप्रोमाइज्ड’ असल्याचा आरोप करत त्यांनी म्हटले होते की, “पंतप्रधान मोदी स्वतःच तडजोडीच्या स्थितीत आहेत. ते अमेरिका आणि इस्रायल सांगतील तसेच निर्णय घेतात. त्यामुळे ते देशहिताचे निर्णय घेऊ शकत नाहीत, हे स्पष्ट दिसत आहे.”
