\nडोक्याला गंभीर फटका बसल्याने एनगिडी काही वेळ जागेवरच निपचित पडला होता. जवळपास एक मिनिट त्याच्या हालचाली पूर्णपणे बंद होत्या, ज्यामुळे स्टेडियममधील प्रेक्षक आणि खेळाडूंच्या काळजाचा ठोका चुकला. तातडीने वैद्यकीय पथक मैदानात धावले. एनगिडीच्या मानेला ‘नेक ब्रेस’ लावून त्याला सुरक्षित करण्यात आले. परिस्थितीचे गांभीर्य ओळखून मैदानावर रुग्णवाहिका (Ambulance) बोलवावी लागली. दिल्लीचे मुख्य प्रशिक्षक रिकी पाँटिंग यांनीही मैदानात धाव घेत एनगिडीच्या तब्येतीची विचारपूस केली. तब्बल १० मिनिटांनंतर एनगिडीला पुढील उपचारांसाठी रुग्णालयात नेण्यात आले.

\nआयपीएलच्या नियमानुसार, डोक्याला गंभीर इजा झाल्यामुळे दिल्ली कॅपिटल्सने ‘कन्कशन सब्स्टीट्यूट’ची मागणी केली. ही मागणी मान्य झाल्यानंतर एनगिडीच्या जागी युवा लेग-स्पिनर विप्रज निगम याला संघात स्थान देण्यात आले आहे. विप्रज आता या सामन्यात एनगिडीची उरलेली षटके टाकू शकणार आहे. एनगिडीची प्रकृती आता स्थिर असली तरी, क्रिकेट चाहत्यांकडून त्याच्या लवकरात लवकर बरे होण्यासाठी प्रार्थना केली जात आहे.
