श्रीहरीकोटा – चंद्रावर अंतराळ उतरवण्याच्या महत्त्वाकांक्षी “चांद्रयान-2’मोहिमेचे “विक्रम’ लॅंडर चंद्रावर उतरवण्याच्या काही मिनिटे आगोदर काही तांत्रिक अडचणी आल्या. त्यामुळे “विक्रम’ लॅंडरकडून सिग्नल पाठवले जाणे थांबवले गेले. नियोजित वेळेच्या काही मिनिटे अगोदरपासून “विक्रम’ लॅंडरची स्थिती काय आहे, हे श्रीहरीकोटा येथील शास्त्रज्ञांना समजू शकले नव्हते. यामुळे शास्त्रज्ञ निराश झाले आहेत. या पार्श्वभूमीवर अनेक दिग्गज नेते शास्त्रज्ञांचा प्रोत्साहित करत आहेत.
राष्ट्रपती रामनाथ कोविंद यांनी म्हंटले कि, देशाला इस्रोचा अभिमान आहे, असे त्यांनी ट्विट केले आहे.
